ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Special Assistant, Huzaifa Rehman, has drawn an unusual comparison between the premier’s intelligence and that of renowned scientist Sir Isaac Newton, claiming that the prime minister’s IQ is close to that of the legendary physicist.
Speaking on a private television channel’s programme, Rehman praised Shehbaz Sharif’s intellectual abilities, saying that his mental sharpness and intelligence quotient (IQ) were comparable to those of Isaac Newton.
Highlighting the prime minister’s demanding work routine, Rehman said Shehbaz Sharif remained engaged in official duties from 6am until 10pm and regularly convened meetings of the federal cabinet every week.
He added that the prime minister had little tolerance for corruption or incompetence and did not allow corrupt or underperforming individuals to remain in his close circle.
Rehman also made an interesting observation about the prime minister’s expectations from cabinet members, saying that not everyone could match Shehbaz Sharif’s exceptional working pace and capabilities.
In a striking remark, he claimed that if the prime minister had his way, he would remove 52 or 53 members of the existing 55-member federal cabinet, retaining only two or three ministers.
The special assistant added, in a light-hearted manner, that he expected to be among those who would retain their positions, as he believed his own IQ was also close to that of the prime minister.
His remarks have drawn attention because of the comparison with one of history’s most celebrated scientists and his assessment of the federal cabinet’s performance.
