KARACHI: The government has kept petrol prices unchanged but increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs2.29 per litre, bringing its new rate to Rs402.96 per litre.
Following the latest revision, petrol will continue to sell at Rs377.91 per litre, offering consumers some relief from an increase in fuel prices.
According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the ex-depot prices of petroleum products have been revised under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism. The revised rates will remain effective from October 31 to November 2, 2026.
Diesel Price Increased by Rs2.29 Per Litre
Under the revised pricing, the price of high-speed diesel has been raised from Rs400.67 to Rs402.96 per litre, marking an increase of Rs2.29 per litre.
However, the government has decided not to change the price of petrol, keeping it unchanged at Rs377.91 per litre.
The latest adjustment means that consumers will have to pay more for diesel, while petrol buyers will continue to pay the existing rate.
Diesel Price Increased for the Second Consecutive Day
It is worth noting that the government had also increased the price of high-speed diesel by Rs0.85 per litre on Thursday, taking its price from Rs399.82 to Rs400.67 per litre.
At the time, petrol prices were also kept unchanged at Rs377.91 per litre.
With the latest increase of Rs2.29 per litre, diesel prices have now been raised for the second consecutive day, while petrol prices have remained unchanged.
