KARACHI: The federal government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs3.93 per litre while keeping the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) unchanged. Under the revised rates, petrol will now cost Rs386.30 per litre, while high-speed diesel will remain priced at Rs396.96 per litre. The new prices will remain in effect from October 17 to October 19, 2026.
According to a statement issued by the Petroleum Division, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) reviewed the ex-depot prices of petroleum products in accordance with the pricing mechanism established by the federal government.
The statement said the revision was prompted by changes in the international market, particularly fluctuations in Platts prices, premiums and other related costs. This time, the revised prices will apply for only three days, covering the weekend.
Earlier on Wednesday, the government had reduced the price of petrol by Rs3.63 per litre to Rs390.23, while increasing the price of high-speed diesel by Rs0.31 per litre to Rs396.96.

The latest adjustment in domestic petroleum prices takes into account international market movements and related costs. The reduction in petrol prices will provide consumers with relief of Rs3.93 per litre, while the price of high-speed diesel remains unchanged at Rs396.96 per litre.
