KP Administration Reshuffled! New Chief Secretary, Fresh Postings for Police Officers

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has ordered a major reshuffle of the administrative and police machinery in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following the imposition of governor’s rule and emergency measures in the province. Several senior officials, including the chief secretary, have been transferred, while 15 officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) have been designated as Officers on Special Duty (OSDs). Four police officers have also been reassigned, according to notifications issued by the Establishment Division.

Dr Fakhr Alam Irfan Appointed New Chief Secretary
According to separate notifications issued by the Establishment Division, Shahab Ali Shah has been removed from the post of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief secretary and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

Dr Muhammad Fakhr Alam Irfan has been appointed as the new chief secretary of the province.

Four Police Officers Directed to Report to Establishment Division
The notifications direct four police officers serving in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to report to the Establishment Division. They include three Grade 20 officers — Humayun Masood Sindhu, Fasihuddin and Irfan Tariq — and Grade 18 officer Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, the federal government has ordered the posting of four police officers to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. They are Grade 18 officer Saad Afridi from Punjab, Iftizaz Arif from Balochistan, Pari Gul from Islamabad and retired Lieutenant Commander Kashif Aftab Abbasi from Sindh.

Officers Transferred to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Other Departments
The federal government has also placed the services of several officers serving in different departments at the disposal of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.

The services of Muhammad Yahya Khanzada, who was serving at the Prime Minister’s Office, have been transferred to the provincial government. Khawaja Muhammad Sikandar Zeeshan, a Pakistan Administrative Service officer serving in Punjab, has also been transferred to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Similarly, Major (retd) Aurangzeb Badani, who was serving at the National Institute of Public Administration in Quetta, has been transferred to the province.

Several Senior PAS Officers Directed to Report to Establishment Division
As part of the administrative reshuffle, several Pakistan Administrative Service officers have been transferred out of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

The officers include Grade 21 officials Ikramullah and Anbar Ali Khan, as well as Grade 20 officers Shahidullah and Sohail Khan.

The list also includes Grade 19 officers Shah Fahad, Captain (retd) Mian Adil Iqbal, Muhammad Usman, Captain (retd) Sarmad Saleem Akram and Shafiullah Khan.

In addition, Grade 18 officers Captain (retd) Zubair Khan, Waqar Ali, Captain (retd) Sanaullah Khan, Muhammad Ihtisham-ul-Haq and Muhammad Faheem have also been transferred out of the province and directed to report to the Establishment Division.

The appointments, transfers and OSD designations have been ordered through notifications issued by the Establishment Division.
