KARACHI: K-Electric has announced a schedule for temporary power outages in various parts of the city due to essential maintenance and repair work on the power system. According to the schedule issued by the utility, electricity supply from several feeders across Karachi will remain suspended at different times on September 24, 2026.
According to the schedule, several feeders, including 33-E, Abbasi Nagar, Adamjee Science College, Al-Mumtaz, Al-Ghouri, Ali Akbar Shah, Ali Daulat, Asifabad, Asim, Badr Masjid, Balochistan Particle Board, Banodi, Baradari, Baray Wala, Bose, Chapel Luxury, Chawla Flat, Chailay Corner, Comprehensive High School, C Station, Defence 15, Eastern Film, Eram Developer, Extension, Fruit Market, Ganchi Para, Gujarat Colony and Gulistan Colony, will be affected by the power outages.
In addition, feeders serving Hali Irshad, Haseeb Polani, Hujrat Colony, Hilal-e-Ahmar, Jumma Village, Kashmir Colony, KBR Society, Lyari Fire Brigade, Lyari Ice, Mashriq Society, Moonlight, Muneeb Kamil (Custom Society), Mori Goth, Murtaza Commercial, Navy Merchant, Olympic Pride, Rauf Oil, C Mill, Sector D, Sony Resort, South Park, Special Education, Surjani Telephone Exchange, UBL Sports, Athal Bazaar, VIBC Baldia, Wells Area and Zia Colony will also be affected according to the issued schedule.
The details released by K-Electric show that the duration of the power outages will vary from area to area. Electricity supply at some feeders will be suspended from 8am, while outages at certain other feeders will begin at 9am or later. In most affected areas, power suspension is scheduled to continue until 5:29pm, 5:54pm, 5:59pm or 6pm.
The schedule also includes shorter-duration outages for certain feeders. These include Asim RMU, where electricity will remain suspended from 9:29am to 1:59pm; South Park RMU, from 11:59am to 2:59pm; and Eastern Film, where the scheduled outage will run from 10:59am to 10:59pm.
According to the schedule issued by K-Electric, the power interruptions will be carried out as part of maintenance and repair work. Consumers in the affected areas will experience suspension of electricity supply during the specified hours.
