Man defrauds mobile shopkeeper using fake 500 Dirham

CHHOTA GATE: An alleged fraud incident was reported at the Chhota Gate Mobile Market in Karachi during the night, where a mobile shopkeeper was reportedly deceived with a fake 500 dirham note.

According to the information shared by local traders, the incident involved Javed, associated with Shah Communication, who was allegedly approached by a man who purchased some items and paid 500 dirhams.

The shopkeeper reportedly returned the remaining amount in cash to the customer. It was later discovered that the 500-dirham note handed over by the man was allegedly counterfeit.

By the time the suspected fraud was detected, the individual had already left the market with the purchased goods.

Local traders have appealed to anyone who may recognize the individual or have any information about his whereabouts to contact 0300-214945 immediately.

Traders have also urged members of the public to share information responsibly and remain cautious when accepting foreign currency, particularly during cash transactions, to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
