TANDO JAM: Police have registered a terrorism case against 31 students of the University of Agriculture Tando Jam following allegations of anti-national activities and the creation of public panic on campus.

According to police officials, the incident occurred on August 16, when a group of students reportedly entered the boys’ hostel while chanting anti-national slogans.

In contrast, student leaders have dismissed the terrorism charges as politically motivated.

They claim the legal action is a retaliatory measure intended to silence students who have been vocal about campus grievances and those who participated in protests following the murder of Fehmida Leghari.

The First Information Report (FIR), lodged on the complaint of a sub-inspector, alleges that the students gathered within the university premises armed with sticks, stones, and rods to incite unrest and spread panic among the student body.

The FIR specifically names six individuals—Faisal Khaliq Napar, Mian Shabbir Abbasi, Ghulam Haider Banglani, Asadullah Rajpar, Saleem Raza, and Jaan Wasan—while 25 other students remain unidentified.

Authorities have confirmed that no arrests have been made in connection with the case thus far.
