The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has issued important instructions regarding SIM cards for its beneficiaries, urging the beneficiaries to receive their free SIMs at the earliest.
During an e-Kacheri session, BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid advised deserving women that those who have not yet received their free Benazir SIM from a BISP office, or who obtained a SIM from another source, must collect their official Benazir SIM free of charge from their nearest BISP office.
Senator Rubina Khalid instructed beneficiaries to bring their original national identity card (CNIC) and personal mobile phone when collecting the SIM.
She advised women to ask BISP staff to install the SIM in their mobile phones themselves at the time of collection.
She explained that beneficiaries will receive an SMS from the relevant bank once funds are transferred to their digital wallets.
Another confirmation SMS will be sent after withdrawal, containing complete details of the amount transferred and received.
She said this message will serve as proof of payment and help women verify that they have received the full amount.
The BISP chairperson also stressed that women should never hand over their mobile phones to any agent under any circumstances, as receiving payments only requires the original CNIC and biometric verification. A mobile phone is not needed for the payment process.
She advised beneficiaries to keep their mobile phones and numbers with them at all times so that no one can delete their messages or complaint-related information.
She reiterated that all BISP stipends, facilities, and services are completely free of charge.
