Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has regained 14 weekly winter-season landing and takeoff slots at London Heathrow Airport, which were previously being used by Turkish Airlines under a temporary arrangement.
The restored slots will become effective from October 25, 2026, allowing PIA to strengthen its operations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom during the winter schedule.
With the return of these slots, the national carrier plans to operate flights to London from Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, and Sialkot, expanding travel options for passengers flying between the two countries.
The slots had been temporarily allocated to Turkish Airlines after PIA was barred from operating flights to Europe and the UK.
Following the restoration of its operations, the airline has now regained access to the Heathrow slots.
Meanwhile, PIA’s new management is expected to unveil a major expansion plan on August 14, 2026.
The announcement is likely to include the induction of new aircraft into the fleet and the launch of additional international routes as part of the airline’s growth strategy.
