KARACHI: The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a powerful surge in the mid-day session Monday, as the benchmark KSE-100 index soared 1,448 points to stand at 186,820.77 by 11:20 AM.
The bullish momentum, building on the strong opening, underscored robust investor appetite across sectors.
Trading activity remained vibrant, with volume swelling to 328.7 million shares and a value of Rs17.35 billion across 194,407 transactions. Out of 564 active symbols, 330 advanced, 136 declined, while 98 remained unchanged — reflecting a broad-based rally.
The All-Share Index climbed 908 points to 112,900.74, while the KSE-30 gained 456 points to 55,860.90. The KMI-30 index surged 2,461 points to 265,047.68, and the banking sector’s BKTI added 374 points to 52,380.62.
Analysts noted that today’s mid-day boom builds on last Friday’s bullish close, when the KSE-100 had topped 185,500 as bulls dominated trading. The continuation of momentum into the new week suggests strong institutional participation and renewed confidence in blue-chip counters, setting the stage for a potentially record-breaking week if sentiment holds.
