Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Friday, during which the two leaders discussed regional peace efforts, the Iran-US dialogue process, and bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

During their warm and cordial conversation, the Prime Minister congratulated Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the signing of the historic Islamabad Peace Deal.

The Prime Minister expressed deep appreciation to the Crown Prince for his steadfast and consistent support of Pakistan’s peace efforts and paid tribute to him for leading the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with great wisdom and sagacity throughout this crisis.

Prime Minister Shehbaz congratulated the Saudi Crown Prince on the signing of the historic “Islamabad Peace Accord” and acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s consistent support for peace initiatives. He noted that the Kingdom, along with other Gulf states, had made significant contributions toward facilitating an agreement between Iran and the United States.

The Saudi Crown Prince congratulated the Pakistani premier on the successful conclusion of the accord and commended the efforts of Syed Asim Munir, recognising his role in helping bring the negotiations to a successful outcome.

Both leaders agreed that the next phase of talks between Iran and the United States would be critical and should continue to be guided by dialogue, diplomacy, and a shared commitment to peace.

They also stressed the importance of remaining vigilant against any attempts to derail the ongoing negotiation process.

The discussion also focused on bilateral relations, with both sides expressing satisfaction over the strong and longstanding partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said he looked forward to further strengthening economic cooperation and noted that both countries were ready to finalise a comprehensive economic package under the patronage of the Saudi Crown Prince.
