ISLAMABAD: Following a reduction in petrol prices, the federal government has also announced significant cuts in the prices of jet fuel and light diesel oil, offering potential relief to the aviation, industrial, and agricultural sectors.

According to the revised pricing, the price of jet fuel used by airlines has been reduced by Rs48.80 per litre. The new price has been set at Rs283.52 per litre, down from Rs332.32 per litre.

Experts believe the reduction in jet fuel prices could lower operational costs for airlines, which may eventually translate into cheaper airfares for passengers.

Meanwhile, the government has also reduced the price of light diesel oil by Rs30.61 per litre. Following the cut, the new price of light diesel oil has been fixed at Rs244.93 per litre.

Light diesel oil is widely used in small industries, mills, and agricultural tube wells. The price reduction is expected to provide relief to businesses and farmers that rely on the fuel for daily operations.
