The Sindh government has expanded its women empowerment initiatives by announcing the distribution of free pink scooters in Hyderabad under a major scheme aimed at improving mobility and ensuring safer transport options for women.
According to Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, following the recent announcement to open Shahrah-e-Bhutto for general traffic, the government has introduced another key initiative. Under this programme, free pink electric scooters will be distributed to women in Hyderabad on May 28.
The senior minister described the scheme as a transformative step towards women’s independence, stating that the pink e-scooter initiative is contributing to changing social attitudes while enhancing mobility opportunities for women.
He further added that the distribution of 1,000 scooters over the past year has had a positive impact on society, and the programme is now being extended to Hyderabad to enable more women to benefit from the facility.
