The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a volatile session on Tuesday with the benchmark KSE-100 Index gaining nearly 800 points.

At close, the benchmark index settled at 164,742.47, a gain of 793.53 points or 0.48%.

On Monday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange closed in positive territory, although strong early gains faded toward the end of the session due to renewed geopolitical concerns and volatility in global oil markets, which weighed on investor sentiment.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index rose by 954.77 points, or 0.59%, to settle at 163,948.94 points.

In other news, Pakistan’s trade deficit exceeded $4 billion in April 2026, driven by a surge in imports, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, oil prices declined by more than 1% on Tuesday after surging as much as 6% in the previous session. The earlier rally followed indications that the United States Navy may ease tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, potentially improving supply flows from the region.

Brent crude futures for July delivery fell $1.22, or 1.1%, to $113.22 per barrel at 0323 GMT, after posting a 5.8% gain on Monday.
