Islamic Republic of Iran has demanded “compensation from five regional countries, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan, for their participation in the US and Israeli war against Iran.”

In a letter sent Monday to UN Secretary-General António Guterres and UN Security Council President Jamal Fares Alrowaiei, Iran’s UN envoy Amir Saeid Iravani accused certain countries of violating their international obligations by allegedly supporting US-Israeli attacks on Iran, according to Tasnim News Agency.

He said that those countries should be held accountable and provide compensation for damages suffered during the conflict.

Tensions in the region escalated after the United States and Israel carried out joint strikes on Iran on February 28.

In response, Tehran launched attacks targeting Israel, Iraq, Jordan, and Gulf states hosting US military assets. The conflict resulted in widespread casualties, with thousands reported dead or injured before a two-week ceasefire was announced last week.

Meanwhile, China has condemned US blockade around Iranian ports, calling it “dangerous and irresponsible”, after US President Donald Trump threatened to sink any boats that sought to leave or dock there.

Speaking at a press conference, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun described the actions as “dangerous and irresponsible.”
