DAVOS: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that Pakistan had nothing to do with 9/11 attacks.
While being interviewed at CNBC’s news channel, the prime minister said, “I did not want Pakistan to become part of the war on terror suffered a lot after 911 because our country had nothing to do with it. We were not involved in that attack. the al Qaida was formed in Afghanistan.”
He stressed that the Iran-US conflict would be more complicated than the US-Afghan issue.
“When I talked to the Iranian leadership, I felt that they were all up for the resolution of conflict through dialogue. War is never is a solution to any conflict,” he told during an interview.
He further said that war was never a solution, adding that people who solve issues through bloodshed and war, they always cause destruction in this world.
“A conflict right now would be a disaster for developing countries. Oil prices will shoot up, countries like us who are just about to balance our budgets, everything will go and it will just cause poverty,” the Imran Khan added.
Speaking about Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK), the prime minister claimed that India has been taken over by extremist ideology.
Khan said, “Kashmir is, you know, it’s a far more serious problem than people realize, (than) the world realizes. The problem is that India has been taken over by an extremist ideology, which is called Hindutva or the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).”
Earlier, during his keynote address at the World Economic Forum (WEF) summit, Imran Khan said that his government’s biggest challenge now was to improve state institutions so that the country could be better governed.
Imran Khan began his three-day official trip to Switzerland on Tuesday on the invitation of Founder and Chairman of World Economic Forum, Klaus Schwabe. The prime minister is set to deliver a keynote at the session.
