With the arrival of Ramadan, restaurants across the city have announced special iftar buffets, discounted platters, and late-night sehri menus, turning Karachi’s dining scene into a month-long food festival.

From economical eateries to premium seaside dining, families and friends are planning gatherings around daily fast-breaking and pre-dawn meals.

Major buffet restaurants say bookings begin days before the first fast, particularly for weekends.
Families looking for traditional desi spreads are heading to venues such as LalQila Restaurant Karachi and Saltanat Restaurant, known for large buffet menus including BBQ, karahi, chaat, desserts, and drinks.

Meanwhile, food streets and casual restaurants such as Student Biryani continue to attract crowds looking for quick and economical iftar options.

Sehri Deals
Unlike many cities, Karachi stays awake through the night in Ramadan. Restaurants remain open till dawn, introducing dedicated sehri deals.

Late-night tea cafés and eateries like Koyla Chai and Usmania Restaurant see peak crowds after midnight, serving nihari, qeema, paratha, and karak chai.

Hotels and larger dining venues, including Clock Tower The Food Bazaar and Mandi House, offer full sehri buffets, targeting families who prefer eating out before fajr prayers.

Dining Becomes Social Ritual

Industry representatives say Ramadan now accounts for one of the busiest months of the year for Karachi’s food sector. Many families no longer cook daily iftar at home and instead rotate between restaurants.

With inflation affecting household budgets, eateries have introduced sharing platters and group packages to attract customers, ensuring the city’s famous night-long food culture continues throughout the holy month.

Karachi, once again, prepares not only for fasting but for 30 nights of community, late-night tea, and crowded tables after sunset
