PTI leader Uzma Khan has been granted permission to meet her brother Imran Khan, who is imprisoned in Adiala Jail.
The jail administration has informed Uzma Khan regarding the approval of the meeting, after which she departed for Adiala Jail.
The CPO Rawalpindi visited Dahgal checkpoint and reviewed security arrangements. Additional security personnel have been deployed on Adiala Road in view of any possible protest.
Before leaving, Dr. Uzma Khan said, “We do not go on conditions; we are free. Who can stop us? This is our own Pakistan. No conditions have been set — I am taking a message with me and will return with a special message.”
The meeting comes as the party had threatened to hold a protest outside the Islamabad High Court (IHC) and then march towards the jail to demand that the party leadership and family be allowed to meet Khan.
Government officials said that meetings weren’t allowed under jail rules to ensure the security of not only the ex-premier but also other prisoners. They also alleged that those who met Khan discussed political issues with him.
