Funeral prayer of slain policeman offered in Karachi

KARACHI: The funeral prayer of slain policeman, who was killed in the metropolis’s Industrial area, was offered at the Police Headquarters Garden on Wednesday.

Constables-Irfan was killed during a police encounter with criminals in the jurisdiction of New Karachi police station, a police statement said here on Wednesday.

It said that the funeral prayer was attended by Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam, Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon, officials of Pakistan Rangers Sindh and senior police officials.

A contingent of the police presented the ‘Shaheed Salam’ and floral wreaths were also laid.On the occasion, the Sindh IGP offered condolences to the family members of the slain policeman.

He also paid tributes to the policemen who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. The IGP said that such cowardly acts of the criminals cannot lower the morale of the police force. The sacrifices of the policemen would not go in vain.
