KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi has rescheduled the trial of two cases of murder of police officers citing the absence of an investigating officer of the case.
The ATC started the trial of the case of the murder of policemen, but the officials involved did not bring the detained accused Mirza Umar before the trial court.

The prosecution claimed that it was a high-profile case and that the accused could not be brought because of a security risk. In addition, the court did not obtain notification of the execution of the prison trial in the case.
It is notable to mention here that the judge ordered the police to block national identity cards (NIC) of the accused in the case . Afterward, the ATC judge ordered the inquiry officer to produce the absconders and postponed the hearing until 22 January.
Earlier, a man was shot dead on Monday night in a suspicious targeted killing in North Karachi. As per police, some unidentified assailants opened fire on him on the Manghopir Road and fled, the man, Ameer Buksh, who was on his way on a motorcycle.
Officials said he received multiple bullet wounds and was immediately moved to the hospital where he was declared dead by doctors upon his arrival.
