Ansar Allah has confirmed the martyrdom of Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi following Israeli airstrikes on Yemen.
According to Yemeni media, multiple Israeli strikes targeted the capital Sana’a on Thursday.
The Israeli military had earlier claimed that its operation was aimed at eliminating several senior leaders of Ansar Allah.
However, Yemen’s Ministry of Defense, controlled by the Houthis, initially denied reports that their leadership was targeted, while vowing to continue operations against “those committing genocide in Gaza and starving the Palestinian people.”
Local reports state that at the time of the strikes, a cabinet meeting was underway, resulting in the deaths of the Prime Minister and several ministers.
It is noteworthy that only four days earlier, Israeli air raids on Yemen killed 10 people and injured more than 90 others.
