Unidentified angry individuals assaulted veteran Pakistani actor Rashid Mehmood near the Sheikh Khalifa Bridge and stole his valuables in the city of Rahim Yar Khan, Punjab.
According to reports, the senior actor released a video statement from Rajanpur in which he explained that he was on his way to pick up his wife when he lost his way after exiting the motorway interchange and ended up at Sheikh Khalifa Bridge.
He said that during this time, a motorcycle collided with his car, after which local residents attacked him and took his valuables, including his national identity card.
He added that the motorcycle struck his car at such speed that he was alarmed, and after the collision, the riders fell to one side, although none sustained serious injuries.
Rashid Mehmood said that the attackers tried to forcibly take him with them, but a bystander intervened, helped him escape, and alerted the police.
He further said he suspected the attackers to be bandits from the riverine areas and claimed that although they were at fault, they assaulted him instead.
