MELBOURNE: As fires raged in Australia, a group of Muslim women from the Australian Islamic Center raised money, traveled miles and cooked food for more than 150 firefighters working in the affected areas.
Firefighters in Australia have been working day and night for the past several months to stop the raging fires. Nearly 2000 homes have been destroyed or damaged amid fires and more than 500 million animals had died already.

A group of Muslim women from a Melbourne filled five trucks of donated supplies raised through crowd and community funding. They traveled more than four hours to distribute the supplies among people affected by bush fires.
They didn’t stop there and traveled further towards Western Australia and upon reaching Johnsonville area, the women cooked breakfast for 150 firefighters.
Rodney Baylis, a Johnsvonville firefighter, on Facebook “extend thanks from the fire-affected areas,” He further added, “I just been on the phone to the captain down there and he nearly broke into tears when I told him what we are bringing in for them today.”
