Huawei Technologies, a leading Chinese technology company, has committed to training 300,000 Pakistanis in IT and advanced technology skills by the end of this year. Under this initiative, 60,000 participants will receive high-tech training, while 240,000 will undergo basic IT training.Â
The announcement was made during a meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a Huawei delegation led by CEO Ethen Sun.
As part of this collaboration, Huawei, in partnership with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), has introduced courses on Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, big data, and cybersecurity in 15 universities across Pakistan.
To date, Huawei has already trained 20,315 students under this initiative, focusing on equipping students, trainers, and professionals with ICT expertise. Master trainers, trained by Huawei, will deliver localized training to further expand the program’s reach.

This strategic partnership aims to enhance technical education and skill development in Pakistan, fostering innovation and technological advancement. The National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) will serve as the implementation partner under the Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Program.
