The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has decided to conduct board examinations for Class 8 students from the next academic year to standardize education in the province.
This marks a departure from the previous system where exams were held within individual schools.
Under the revised system, Class 8 students will take their exams at designated examination centres instead of their schools. The process will be supervised by external invigilators, including teachers from other schools and PSEB officials, to maintain fairness and impartiality. Additionally, answer sheets will be evaluated by educators from different institutions to ensure unbiased grading.
This initiative is part of PSEB’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and prepare students for the challenges of higher-level board exams.
By introducing board exams at an earlier stage, students will gain valuable experience and a clearer understanding of their academic performance, setting a strong foundation for future assessments.
In parallel, the annual matriculation exams for grades 9 and 10 are currently being conducted across Punjab’s nine Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISEs).
