Indian music composer A.R. Rahman was admitted to a private hospital on Greams Road in Chennai on Sunday morning due to chest pain.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin shared an update on the 58-year-old musician’s health on the microblogging platform X.
The musician and singer were taken to the hospital around 7:30 AM, where doctors conducted several tests, including an ECG and an echocardiogram. Hospital officials have indicated that he might have an angiogram, and a team of experts closely watches over the health of the Oscar-winning composer. M.K. Stalin gave an update on A.R. Rahman’s health, saying that the moment he came to know about the hospitalization, he called up the doctors and they told him that Rahman is fine and will be back home very soon.
On the work front, A.R. Rahman has come out with two releases this year, Kadhalikka Neramillai (a Tamil movie) and Chhava. He is also simultaneously working on several projects in various languages, at different stages of production. He is gearing up for the release of Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam and featuring Kamal Haasan, which is likely to release on June 10. Some of the other projects in the pipeline are Lahore 1947, Tere Ishq Mein, the Ramayana series, Ram Charan’s RC 16, and Gandhi Talks.
