KARACHI: Compressed natural gas (CNG) stations across Sindh reopened on Sunday for 12 hours in the midst of the province’s extreme gas crisis.
After a brief opening on Friday night for eight hours, gas supply to CNG stations throughout Sindh was suspended on Saturday. After the news spread that stations were permitted to supply gas, the vehicle owners had formed long queues at CNG stations on Saturday night.

However, the CNG stations were soon ordered to close down again in the early hours due to low gas pressure.
Meanwhile, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) had said that when gas pressure increases, the stations would be allowed to open again.
Regarding the continues gas crisis, Industries in Sindh have announced Monday’s protest against the country’s prevailing gas crisis.
Earlier, the federal minister for power Omar Ayub on Saturday claimed the ongoing gas shortage was occurring in Sindh due to the failure of the Sindh government to provide a route for the new gas pipeline in the province.
