Gold prices in Pakistan on Monday dropped by Rs800, reflecting a decline in international rates. In the local market, the price of gold per tola fell to Rs277,000, while the price for 10 grams of gold decreased by Rs687 to Rs237,482, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewelers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
Silver prices remained steady at Rs3,400 per tola.
Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee experienced a slight depreciation against the US dollar, falling by 0.02% in the inter-bank market on Monday.
At the close of trading, the rupee settled at 278.17, losing Re0.05 against the greenback.
In the previous week, the rupee also saw a marginal decline, dropping by Re0.11, or 0.04%, in the inter-bank market. The local currency closed at 278.12, compared to 278.01 at the end of the previous week, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
