Gold prices rose in the local bullion markets of Pakistan on Wednesday in line with their increase in the international rate.
As per the data shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price per tola 24 karat gold witnessed an increase of Rs. 3,100 and reached Rs. 280,500. While the 10-gram gold of 24 kirat was sold at Rs240,484 after it registered an increase of Rs2,658.
On Tuesday, gold price per tola increased by Rs1,000 in Pakistan. The international rate of gold jumped by $31 to settle at $2,693 per ounce.
On the other hand, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) witnessed a slight depreciation against the US dollar (USD) as it dipped 0.03 percent during the initial trading hours on the third trading day of the week.
Before 10:30 AM, the local currency was seen at Rs278.12 after it recorded a loss of seven paisa against the greenback.
Since the start of 2024, the PKR has gained Rs3.81 or 1.37 per cent against the greenback. During the ongoing financial year 2025, the rupee has gained 0.10 per cent or 29.12 paisa against the USD.
