The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has denied claims circulating on social media regarding a protest call attributed to former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser for December 7.

In an official statement, PTI spokesperson Sheikh Waqas declared the news as fake, urging party supporters to avoid falling prey to propaganda.

“The protest call associated with Asad Qaiser for December 7 is fake news. We refute this claim; it holds no truth,” said Sheikh Waqas. “Over the past few days, a lot of fake news has been circulating. I appeal to everyone to act responsibly in these challenging times and not to pay attention to any form of propaganda.”

The statement comes amidst widespread speculation on platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) regarding an upcoming PTI protest. The claims have sparked anxiety among PTI workers, who remain wary after their recent protest in Islamabad.

The Islamabad protest, held to demand the release of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan, ended in a violent crackdown, reportedly causing injuries and fatalities among PTI supporters. This has left the party’s workers reluctant to engage in further demonstrations, fearing more casualties.

Imran Khan has been in jail facing multiple allegations of severe crimes, with diminishing hopes for his release. This has compounded frustrations among PTI supporters, who view him as their unwavering leader despite the party’s current struggles.

The PTI leadership’s clarification aims to calm tensions and discourage any actions based on misinformation, reiterating the need for caution and unity during these turbulent times.
