The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an important advisory to citizens against Photocopying documents, urging them to refrain from making unnecessary photocopies of their national identity cards, family registration certificates, and other NADRA-issued documents.
The advisory clarified that NADRA offices only require original documents for most transactions so citizens can simply present their original documents or the corresponding NADRA-issued numbers. “Only in specific cases, such as documents that NADRA cannot access online, will photocopies be necessary,” it added.
NADRA has warned that making unnecessary photocopies can pose security risks, as these copies could potentially be misused by unauthorized individuals.
The authority has also provided multiple channels for citizens to report any instances where NADRA staff demand unnecessary photocopies. Complaints can be lodged online at https://complaints.nadra.gov.pk or by contacting NADRA’s Central Complaint Management System.
