Celebrated Pakistani TikTok star Jannat Mirza has candidly discussed her recent decision to end her engagement with former fiancé Umer Butt during her latest podcast appearance. Jannat revealed that the separation came after a period of careful consideration, as she and Umer found it increasingly difficult to envision a future together.
In the podcast, Jannat detailed the thought process behind the breakup, stating, “I think I was not ready for the breakup; why would I be ready for such a thing? But yes, I was not afraid of it, I was happy after that.” She emphasized that the decision was not made on impulse, despite it taking nearly two years to come to fruition. “The thing that could happen in the future has happened before. I think calling off a Nikah or marriage hurts more, so it is okay that it all ended before. We talked about it before ending it. I could not live in such a relationship. I have a strong support system, including my parents and sisters,” she added.
Beyond discussing her past relationship, Jannat shared her perspective on marriage, revealing her preference for the traditional route of arranged marriages. “Arranged marriages have more charm. In my past relationship, I could see multiple issues. Some things couldn’t be ignored, especially regarding marriage because it happens for a lifetime,” she explained.
Jannat also touched on her evolving views on forgiveness, noting that she no longer believes in giving second chances as she did in the past. This revelation adds a new layer to her public persona, highlighting her growth and changing attitudes towards relationships and marriage.
The podcast session provided a revealing glimpse into Jannat Mirza’s personal life, shedding light on her recent experiences and future outlook.
