NEW DEHLI: Main opposition leader in the Indian Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi recited the Darood Sharif in honor of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
During his speech, Gandhi highlighted that notable figures throughout history have advocated for non-violence and the eradication of fear, urging people to “not be afraid,” as mentioned in the Holy Quran.
Gandhi accused BJP leaders of fomenting violence, fear, and hatred, arguing that their promotion of hatred is incompatible with their claims of being Hindus. His remarks angered the BJP, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi accusing him of portraying all Hindus as dangerous.
In response to Modi’s demand for an apology, Gandhi stated that Modi and the RSS do not represent all of Hindu society. He reiterated his claims that the BJP incites violence, hatred, and terror.
Displaying images of Guru Nanak, Lord Shiva, and Jesus Christ, Gandhi emphasized the shared message of fearlessness in Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Christianity, Buddhism, and Jainism. He cited the teachings of these religious figures to assert that they all advocate for not instilling or succumbing to fear.
