Imprisonment in Al-Azizia case: LHC to hear Nawaz’s petition today

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (LHC) will hear petition of former premier Nawaz Sharif over his imprisonment in the Al-Azizia case.
Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani will conduct the hearing the petition filed in the Al-Azizia case.
On 14th December, the IHC through a list notified that the court would take up the case of the Al-Azizia corruption case today against Nawaz Sharif who is currently in London undergoing medical treatment there.
Nawaz was granted bail on medical terms in the same case by the LHC.
On October 29, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) had granted bail to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on medical grounds in Al-Azizia case for eight weeks.
Al-Azizia steel mills case was launched against Nawaz by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on 8th September 2017.
Nawaz was sentenced imprisonment of seven years in the same case last year by the accountability court with a fine of Rs1.5 billion.
