Hailing from Karachi, a group of young Hindu volunteers feed hundreds of people daily in the month of Ramadan as a message of goodwill and interfaith harmony. They not only help others with lavish treats to break their fast but some of them also fast.
Why are Hindus fasting?
As per the volunteers, to embrace and experience the spirit of Ramadan, most of the Hindu volunteers fast.
What made them start the initiative?
According to the volunteers, ‘We only see negativity around us so we thought taking first step by one community can encourage others also.

Where is it happening?
Around 500 people are fed by Hindus at Karachi’s railway station.
This practice is not new, Hindus and Muslims have been doing such practice for a century now. Pakistani Hindus observe fasting during Ramadan, while Indian Muslims celebrate Diwali and Holi and during Muharram, Hindus abstain from celebrating festivals or personal events.
