Firdous Awan stresses public cooperation with police

Firdous Awan condemns Modi’s statement of standing firm on Kashmir
SIALKOT: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday stressed the need for active public cooperation with the police for good policing and early provision of justice.
Addressing media after visiting the newly-established Model Sialkot Cantt Police Station, she said that the initiative had given practical shape to make the police people-friendly as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Dr Awan said the police was being turned into an institution to protect the poor and the oppressed and there would be no space for criminal elements.
She said providing relief to the masses was a top priority of the government and that the police had prime role in ending crimes from the society.
Dr Awan said that establishment of Digital Police helpline in Gujranwala was a commendable initiative in line with the vision to bring about reforms in the police department and to change the police culture.
District Police Officer (DPO) Capt (retd) Mustansar Feroz and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
Earlier Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said the government is taking every possible step to rid the country of crippling polio virus.
In a tweet on Saturday, she said we are all united and determined for a healthy Pakistan. The special assistant appealed the people to play their role in polio eradication by fully supporting the polio eradication campaign. She noted that it is essential that the children get vaccination against polio. In this regard, more awareness is being created amongst the masses.
She said the polio vaccination will guarantee a healthy Pakistan. She added that polio workers deserve appreciation who, despite being the victim at the hands of extremists, are discharging their responsibilities with full devotion.
