Awami Muslim League (AML) chief and former federal minister Sheikh Rashid was arrested in Rawalpindi on Sunday.
As per media reports, Islamabad police arrested Rashid from his home located in a private housing society.
Rashid’s lawyer Sardar Abdul Razaq Khan, while confirming his arrest said that two nephews of the former federal minister were also arrested along with him.
The lawyer said that he did not know that in which case his client was arrested. “Police have shifted Shaikh Rashid to an unknown place,” the lawyer added.
It should be noted that Rashid is a close ally of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
