A man allegedly tried to take his own life after getting an electric bill of Rs12,000 in Punjab province.
Dr. Mansoor Klasra, a journalist and social worker, shared a video on the social networking website X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday that appeared to show a man recounting his tragic experience with receiving an electrical bill of Rs.12,000 for using a fan and two energy savers.

The man’s identity and the location of the incident were not mentioned by the journalist.
The man could be heard on the video explaining that he was a poor man who could not afford to provide three square meals for his family, and since he was unable to pay the electricity bill, he made the decision to end his life.
