18 ministers have taken oath of their office in the initial phase of formation of the caretaker federal cabinet.
President Dr. Arif Alvi gave the oath to the caretaker cabinet at the Presidency during the event.
Additionally, the prime minister has seven special aides in the cabinet. Numerous prominent individuals, including acting Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, attended the swearing-in ceremony.
Senator Sarfaraz Bugti took the oath as interim interior minister, Dr Shamshad Akhtar the finance minister, Dr Umar Saif the minister for IT and telecom, journalist Murtaza Solangi the information and broadcasting minister, Mushaal Malik has been announced as the special assistant to the PM on human rights.
Bugti has previously served as the home minister of Balochistan and Dr Akhtar the governor of State Bank of Pakistan.
On the other hand, Dr Umar Saif is also part of the caretaker cabinet, as is Gohar Ijaz, Shahid Ashraf Tarar, retd Lt Gen Anwar Ali Haider and Dr Nadeem Jan.
Ahmed Irfan, actor Jamal Shah, Aneeq Ahmed, Irfan Ahmed Aslam, Jalil Abbas Jilani are also among those who have taken oath as ministers in the interim cabinet.
Dr Saif has been the chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board. He has also received several international awards in the field of technology. Solangi, who has previously served as the director general of Radio Pakistan, will be given the portfolio of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, it has been learnt.
Shahid Ashraf is expected to get postal services, Lt Gen Haider the minister for defence, and Jalil Abbas Jilani and the foreign affairs portfolio.
