Student unions are essential for democratic societies: Fawad

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry said that student unions were an essential part of democratic societies.
Fawad Chaudhry said he was in favor of student unions but without biasedness towards violence.
Chaudhry said that student unions were an essential part of democratic societies that which help teach political awareness in the youth.

The minister also said that in the past student unions were misused by ambitious political parties for wicked activities.
Fawad Chaudhry said that if the violent aspects surrounding these activities can be diminished then having such unions was a necessity.
This is not the first time Chaudhry has supported students publically, on 29th November he posted a tweet that the ban on students’ politics amounted to limit future diplomacies.

In his tweet, he wrote that he fully supported the restoration of student unions as a ban on student unions was an anti-democratic move.
