KARACHI: JI Karachi chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman on Monday accused the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) of rigging in the Local Government polls in Sindh.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, the head of JI Karachi, told the media at a press conference outside a comprehensive high school that the PPP repeated history with its rigging the elections.
He claimed that JI workers were subjected to violence throughout the day and that several of them had been arrested on the PPP’s orders. He also claimed that attempts were made to remove our polling agents, but our workers resisted.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) assured us that correct results would be announced but the ‘worst situation’ – in term of rigging – was in New Karachi UC 13 and 4.
He asserted victory from UC 4 in accordance with Form 11, but the results were altered. JI continuously contacted the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), but there was a delay in the announcement of the results.
On the other hand, PTI leaders have also charged that the PPP rigged the election. According to Aftab Siddiqui, the PPP cannot triumph without cheating. MNA Islam Khan disclosed that just 81 ballots were cast at a single booth, yet 481 of those votes were tallied.
