LAHORE: The Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan left here for Islamabad to appear in in Toshakhana case, which is set to be heard in the Judicial Complex on Saturday.

On November 3 last year, the PTI Chairman was injured along with some 13 other people while one of his worker had lost his life when multiple shooters attacked his Long March convoy in Wazirabad. Khan had been struggling since then to recover from his wounds.

The government on Friday shifted the venue of the additional sessions court to a comparatively safer Judicial Complex for the hearing of the Toshakhana case against him.

The Chief Commissioner Office Islamabad issued a notification declaring Court No 1 Judicial Complex at G-11 as the venue for the hearing of the case filed by the district election commissioner against Mr Khan, terming it a “one-time dispensation”.

It may be added here that Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal was set to frame charges against him on Feb 28, but his lawyer sought exemption from the hearing as he had to appear before other courts in the capital city. The judge had then issued non-bailable arrest warrants for the PTI chief, which remained valid till to date.

Imran Khan had given written undertaking to appear before the said judge on Saturday (today) after which the Islamabad High Court on Friday suspended arrest warrants issued against him.
