Why we get dark circles and how to get rid of them?

MM News Staff by MM News Staff

When we see someone with dark circles under their eyes, our first thought is probably, “Oh, she must not be getting enough sleep!” But doctors have found that more than a few things besides fatigue can cause dark circles under the eyes.

Melanin is a brown or black pigment found naturally in our bodies. It gives our skin, hair, eyes, and other parts of our bodies their color. Here are some ways to avoid getting too much melanin under your eyes and getting those dark circles.

Dar circles are usually caused by aging, genetics, allergies or not getting enough sleep. Home remedies and medical treatment options may be able to help correct the appearance of your under eyes. But if the dark circles persist or you have excessive swelling, be sure to talk to your healthcare provider.

Here we’re going to talk about why you might have dark circles under your eyes, and we’ll also give you some tips on how to get rid of them, so your face stays looking fresh.

1. Practice Proper Bed Posture

Getting puffy can be avoided by sleeping in an upright position. Fluid can get under your eyes while you sleep, especially if you lie flat. Keeping your head slightly raised can help keep fluid from building up, making your face look rested when you wake up.

2. Avoid Direct Sunlight

Any dermatologist will tell you to keep your face out of direct sunlight. The sun makes our skin age faster, but it also gives off UV rays that can hurt the skin. Because the skin is getting older, it gets puffy and dark circles to form under the eyes. So if you’re going to be out in the sun, put on sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat.

3. Try Out Natural Ingredients

Cucumbers and used tea bags are two things you probably already have at home that can help you get rid of eye bags. Cucumbers have significant cooling and anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce puffiness under the eyes. The caffeine and tannins in tea bags also help to reduce swelling and tighten the skin. For the best results, put the cucumber or tea bags on your dark circles for 5 minutes as a cold compress, then wash your face.

4. Prep An Ice-Cold Facial

In the same way, cold cucumbers and tea bags can reduce inflammation in eye bags, using an ice cube or a cold compress (or icepack) can also reduce the puffiness that dark circles leave on the face. Putting ice on your skin also helps it heal faster and looks fresh and healthy.

5. Get Enough Sleep

When we don’t get enough sleep, our skin looks paler, making the dark circles under our eyes stand out more. Because the skin under our eyes is so thin and blood vessels are always getting bigger, it’s easy to get dark when we’re tired. Adults need at least 7 to 9 hours of sleep a night to keep their faces looking fresh and young.

6. Apply Moisturizers And Healing Oils

By putting good oils and moisturizers on your face, you can keep lines and wrinkles at bay. Choose face products with a lot of antioxidants, which can help get rid of dark circles. When you put something on your face and massage it in, you also help the blood flow better. This keeps your blood vessels from getting clogged or narrowed. Almond oil, Vitamin E or C cream, and coconut oil are some of the most popular daily moisturizers.

Different people have different reasons for dark circles under their eyes. Still, everyone has in common that the shadows under your eyes are caused by a lack of oxygen in the blood vessels, which leads to hyperpigmentation. Melanin is an amino acid that leads to hyperpigmentation. Eyebags can be caused by unconsciously rubbing your eyes, spending too much time in the sun, or not getting enough sleep. Your genes and getting older can also play a role. Still, allergies, eczema, dermatitis, and anemia can also cause dark circles under the eyes.
