GENEVA: The United Nations, a leading human rights organization, has stated that Pakistan faced the worst floods this year, and due to climate change in the future, the country might face more disasters.
According to the details, the United Nations declared the effects of climate change in the near future as a clear reminder of the disastrous floods in Pakistan. The United Nations’ annual assessment report on climate and environment said that some countries suffered from catastrophic floods.
According to the annual review report, the monsoon rains have wreaked havoc in Pakistan. A national emergency was declared in August due to severe floods and landslides. One-third of the country was submerged in water. Millions of people were displaced.Â

Global warming is a major threat, the review added, regrettably, the international community has failed to reduce carbon emissions and address the emergency posed by climate change. A global conference titled Climate Resilient Pakistan will also be held in Geneva on January 9.
The report calls for reducing the use of fossil fuels, while developed countries help developing countries deal with human-induced climate change that results in droughts, floods and extreme heat or cold.
