ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has started work on “Baytee”; a program aimed at empowering women through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
A meeting was held under Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr.Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. During the meeting, the Minister was briefed about the program “Baytee”. He was informed that under the program “Baytee”, a mobile application will be created which will act as a consolidated portal that will provide advocacy on women rights, disseminate information on laws and regulations, search women-focused education schools, scholarships, training opportunities, job portal, health services, helpline, etc.
Khaliq Maqbool Siddiqui was told that through “Baytee” women will be enabled to locate nearby hospitals, woman police stations, educational institution, hostel, etc.
