LAHORE: Former Test cricketer Mohammad Hussain passed away at the age of 45 in Lahore on Monday after battling multiple diseases.
The left-arm spinner represented Pakistan in two Tests and 14 one-day internationals (ODI), where he claimed 16 wickets. He played his maiden Test against New Zealand and last against Australia.
In 131 first-class matches, he claimed 454 wickets with the best figures of seven for 53. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a statement offered condolences to his family and friends.
“The PCB is saddened by the passing of former Pakistan Test all-rounder Mohammad Hussain and offers its sincerest condolences to his family and friends,” the cricket board wrote on Twitter.
