KARACHI: In a bizarre incident, a burqa-clad man stabbed two doctors in the emergency ward of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in Karachi.
The man disguised in a full veil attacked a female doctor in the emergency ward. Two male co-workers attempted to stop the unidentified man from attacking their co-worker but sustained severe injuries.
The attacker was apprehended and handed over to the police. The condition of injured doctors is out of danger while the female doctor remained unhurt. The motive for the attacks has not been ascertained.
The work at the emergency ward was temporarily affected after the incident which caused panic at the hospital. The hospital’s administration announced to register a case against the stabbing incident. It added that the treatment of patients is continuing as per routine.
PTI Sindh Assembly member Khurram Sher Zaman condemned the incident and said that Sindh police should take stern action against the accused involved in the incident.
