Nawazuddin Siddiqui quits Indian online streaming market calls its ‘dumping ground’

Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has announced to quit the online streaming market calling it ‘a dumping ground for redundant shows’.

The 47-years-old calls out the Indian streaming market a ‘mafia’ for big production houses. The ‘Serious Men’ star while taking in an interview said, “The platform has become a dumping ground for redundant shows. We either have shows that don’t deserve to be seen in the first place. Or sequels to shows that have nothing more to say.”

He further added, “It’s become ‘dhanda’ for big production houses and actors. Major film producers in Bollywood have cut lucrative deals with all the big players in the OTT field. Producers get whopping amounts to create unlimited content.”

Nawazuddin Siddiqui while calling out online streaming stars that they show tantrums and have downgraded the megastars of industry without thinking that its content which makes someone a star, added,  “this star system killed the big screen now we have so-called stars on OTT claiming big money and throwing tantrums like Bollywood A-listers. They forget. Content is king.”

“Those times are gone when stars ruled. Before this lockdown and the digital domination, A-listers would release their films in 3,000 theatres across the country. People had no choice but to see them. Now they have unlimited choices”, he further mentioned.

Meanwhile, Nawazudddin Siddiqui has received immense laud for his versatile acting skills, the ‘Sacred Games’ actor can mold himself acceding to his character very efficiently. Nawaz started his career in 1999, but rose to fame after his movies ‘Bajrangi Bhaijan’ and ‘Kick’.
