When it comes to cricket and the World Cup, the enthusiasm of the fans is noticeable and when the national team is playing well, the joy increases even more. This is what is being seen in the recent T20 World Cup.

For the first time, the national cricket team has participated in a global event as a favorite because the national team has always faced difficulties in the opening matches before, but in this event, where India was defeated by Pakistan. Then the country beat Afghanistan and now the whole world is declaring the Pakistan cricket team as the most favorite for the World Cup.

In this event, the national team has broken many records, but in the last two matches, a cricket star named Asif Ali can be seen shining with full intensity on the field, which in the match against Afghanistan, stoke 4 sixes in one over. He has reached the heights of fame by hitting sixes overnight.

Let’s take a look at who Asif Ali is and where he came from and how he became the backbone of the national team.

Where did Asif Ali come from?

Born on October 1, 1991, in Faisalabad, 30-year-old hard-hitter Asif Ali represents Northern in first-class cricket and plays for Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League. In August 2018, he was one of the 33 players selected by Pakistan Was awarded the Central Contract for the 2018-19 season.

Domestic career

Asif Ali was the highest run-scorer for Faisalabad in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2017-18 with 369 runs in 6 matches. In April 2018, he was included in the Punjab squad for the Pakistan Cup. He scored 328 runs in four matches and scored the most runs.

On June 3, 2018, he was selected to play for the Edmonton Royals in the draft of the players for the opening edition of the Global T20 Tournament. In October 2018, he was added to the Cape Town Blitz squad for the first edition of the Mazansi Super League. went.

In March 2019, Asif Ali joined the Sindh squad for the Pakistan Cup. In September 2019, he was again included in the squad of the Cape Town Blitz team for the 2019 Mazansi Super League tournament.

Asif Ali was part of the Northern squad for the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament in September 2019. In November 2019, he became part of the Dhaka Platoon in the Bangladesh Premier League.

In July 2020, he was included in the Jamaican Talawah squad for the Caribbean Premier League. In January 2021, he was included in the Northern squad for the Pakistan Cup.

International career

Asif Ali was included in Pakistan’s T20 squad for the series against West Indies in March 2018. He made his T20 debut for Pakistan against West Indies on April 1, 2018, and a one-day international match against Zimbabwe on July 13, 2018. I won the honor of representing Pakistan while the hard-hitting batsman was included in the Pakistan squad for the Cricket World Cup in May 2019 and is part of the Pakistan team in the recent T20 World Cup.

Asif and tape ball cricket in Punjab

Due to the lack of playgrounds and facilities in Pakistan, most of the youth play tape ball cricket in the streets and Asif Ali is one of them. Asif Ali spent his childhood playing tennis in the streets of Faisalabad. And still, in his spare time, he likes to play tape ball with his old teammates at different times.

After Asif Ali’s brilliant sixes against Afghanistan last night, a video has surfaced of him playing tape ball cricket in Punjab in which he can be seen hitting sixes in the same manner as he played great shorts against New Zealand and Afghanistan last night.

Asif Ali’s journey of success

After the departure of Abdul Razzaq and Shahid Afridi from the Pakistan team, the national team has got a better alternative in the case of Asif Ali in the late middle order. Before the recent T20 World Cup, questions were being raised about their selection but he thought it is better to respond to critics with his game.

With the shining of this bright star of the Pakistan team, the journey of national team success is moving forward and our prayers are with this young man and hope that Asif Ali will not disappoint the nation in the future also.
