ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser has urged the world parliaments to send their parliamentary delegations to Indian occupied Kashmir to see the blatant human rights violations there.
Addressing a gathering outside the parliament house in connection with the Kashmir day being observed on Friday, the speaker said Pakistan will go to any extent in support of the oppressed Kashmiri people.
The speaker said he has also written letters to parliaments across the world about the situation in occupied Kashmir.
He said Pakistan is united on the issue of Kashmir. The National Assembly, Senate, the government and the opposition will become the voice of Kashmiri people and plead their case at different levels.
Asad Qaiser also hailed Prime Minister Imran Khan’s speech in the UN General Assembly saying he forcefully presented the case of Kashmiri people at the world body.
In his remarks, Chairman Kashmir Committee Fakhar Imam said the people of Pakistan will not refrain from any sacrifice for the cause of Kashmiri people. He said the future of Pakistan and Kashmir is interlinked.
Kashmir Day was observed to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmir people. Those working in the government departments wore black armbands entitled ‘I am Kashmir’ to convey the message that Pakistan fully stands by their Kashmiri brethren.
Hurriyat leaders and civil society held protest walk in the federal capital to draw world attention to the continuous Indian lockdown and communication blockade in the held territory.
Ministry of Information Technology and Communication in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of Arts is also holding an art exhibition on ‘Solidarity with Kashmir’.
Two separate rallies were taken out in Timergara and Dir Upper to express solidarity with Kashmiri people attended by people from different walks of life.
The participants of the rallies were holding placards and banners in their hands inscribed with slogans in support of the liberation of Indian Occupied Kashmir.
